গুগল ম্যাপস বাংলাদেশের যাত্রীদের জন্য একটি আকর্ষণীয় ফিচার চালু করেছে যার সাহায্যে যাত্রীরা খুব সহজেই তাদের নিত্যদিনের গণ পরিবহনের সকল তথ্য দ্রুত পেতে পারে। এখন থেকে গুগল ম্যাপ্স রাস্তার দিক বর্ণনা, বাস স্টপ কোথায়, গন্তব্যে পৌছাঁতে কত সময় লাগবে এই ব্যাপারে বিস্তারিত তথ্য যাত্রীদের দিবে। এই ফীচার আপাতত পাবলিক বাস এবং রেলওয়ে পরিচালিত ট্রেনগুলোর জন্য করা হয়েছে। এই ফীচারটি দ্বারা, যারা তাদের গন্তব্য সম্পর্কে পরিচিত না তারা খুব সহজেই তাদের গন্তব্যে যেতে পারবেন এবং আরও সঠিক তথ্য তারা পেতে পারবেন তাদের অপরিচিত গন্তব্য সম্পর্কে।

এই অ্যাপটির ইউজার ইন্টারফেস এবং ফাংশনালিটি খুব সাধারন করা হয়েছে। যে কেউ খুব সহজে এখন এটি ব্যবহার করতে পারবে।

যেমন মনে করুন কেউ জাতীয় সংসদ ভবন থেকে লালবাগ কেল্লায় যাবে, তাতে শুধুমাত্র দুটি লোকেশন টাইপ করতে হবে তা হোলো সংসদ ভবন ও লালবাগ কেল্লা। গুগল ট্রানজিট তখন সাথে সাথে জানিয়ে দেবে, “কাছের বাস স্টপ এর হাটা পথে দূরত্ব কত? কাছের বাস স্টপ কোথায়? কোন বাস নিতে হবে তার ডিটেইলস, রুটে কতগুলো স্টপেজ আছে? এস্টিমেটেড টাইম কতক্ষন এবং ভাড়া কত?

নিচের ধাপগুলি ব্যবহার করে খুব সহজেই মানুষ এই অ্যাপটি ব্যবহারবকরতে পারেঃ

· আন্ড্রয়েড অথবা আই ও এস-এ গুগল ম্যাপ ওপেন করতে হবে।

· কোথায় যেতে হবে তা ডেস্টিনেশনে লিখে নিয়ে ডিরেকশন অথবা গো আইকনে প্রেস করতে হবে এবং তারপর সোর্স এবং ডেস্টিনেশন লোকেশনে এন্টার করতে হবে।

· এরপর ট্রানজিট আইকনটি প্রেস করতে হবে রুট এবং স্টপেজ ইনফরমেশন দেখার জন্য।

· এরপর রেকোমেন্ডেট রুট প্রেস করতে হবে যাতে নির্ধারিত গন্তব্যে পৌঁছানোর ব্যাপারে আরো তথ্য আসে।

· নির্ধারিত বাস এবং তাদের আরো গন্তব্যের তালিকা দেখতে যেকোনো বাস স্টপের অপশন ক্লিক করতে হবে।

পুরবে গুগল ম্যাপ্স বাংলাদেশের যাত্রীদের জন্য কিছু ফীচার এনেছিল যেমন টু হুইলার নেভিগেশন মোড এবং ভয়েস নেভিগেশন ইন বাংলা। বর্তমানে আমাদের জন্য তাদের ধারাবাহিক টেকনলগিক্যাল ইনভেস্টমেণ্টে আমাদের যাতায়াত ব্যবস্থা আরো উন্নত হবে এ ব্যপারে কোন সন্দেহ নেই। গুগলের এই নগরবাসী কেন্দ্রিক যাতায়াত ব্যবস্তার যে পরিকল্পনা তা বহিঃ বিশ্বের অনেক দেশেই আছে। বাংলাদেশও এখন এই কাতারে প্রবেশ করলো। আমরা বিশ্বাস করি, এই নতুন ফিচার নগরবাসীর যাতায়াতের খরছ এবং তাদের সময় দুটোতেই অনেক সাশ্রয় দেবে।

গুগল প্রতিদিন প্রায় ১ বিলিয়ন কিলোমিটার রাস্তা এবং ৩ মিলিয়ন পাবলিক ট্রান্সপোর্ট স্টপেজ নিয়ে কাজ করছে। এই গুগল ট্রানজিট বর্তমানে ১০০ এর উপর শহর এবং ডজনের উপর দেশে চলমান আছে এবং নিত্য নতুন পারত্নার এত সুবিধার সাথে নিয়মিত যুক্ত হচ্ছে।

Google Maps has launched an attractive feature for passengers in Bangladesh with the help of which passengers can easily get all the information of their daily public transport quickly. From now on, Google Maps will give passengers detailed information about the direction of the road, where the bus stop is, and how long it will take to reach the destination. This feature is currently used for trains operated by public buses and railways. With this feature, those who are not aware of their destination can easily go to their destination and get more accurate information about their unknown destination.

The user interface and functionality of this app has been made very simple. Anyone can use it very easily now.

Suppose one goes from the national Sangshad Bhaban to Lalbagh Kella, one has to type only two locations in it, namely, the Sangshad Bhaban and Lalbagh Kella. Google Transit will immediately tell you, “What is the walking distance of the nearest bus stop? Where is the nearest bus stop? Details of which bus to take, how many stops are there on the route? How long is the estimated time and how much is the rent?

People can easily use this app by following the steps below:

· At first you need to open Google Map on Android or iOS.
· Write down where to go in the destination and press the direction or go icon and then enter the source and destination location.
· Then press the transit icon to view route and stop information
· Then you have to press the recommended route to get more information about reaching the destination.
· Then Click the option of any bus stop to see the list of scheduled buses and their more destinations

In the past, Google Maps brought some features for the passengers of Bangladesh such as two wheeler navigation mode and voice navigation in Bangla. There is no doubt that our continuous technological investment will improve our transportation system. Google’s plans for this city-centric transportation system are available in many countries around the world. Bangladesh also entered this Qatar now. We believe this new feature will save a lot of time and money for city dwellers.

Google is working on about 1 billion kilometers of roads and 3 million public transport stops every day. Google Transit is currently running in over 100 cities and over a dozen countries, and is constantly being added to the benefits of new partners.
